You need:
Moong dhal 1/2cup
Jackfruit seeds 100gms
Onion (small) 1nos
Tomato (Small) 1nos
Oil 1tbsp
Mustard seeds 1/2tsp
Fennel seeds 1/2tsp
Garlic 2-3pods
Curry leaves few
Green chilli 1nos
Dry red chilli 2nos
Turmeric powder 1/2tsp
Jeera powder 1tbsp
Fennel powder 1/2tsp
Asasfoetida 1/4tsp
Coriander leaves to garnish
Preparation:
Cook the dhal and jackfruit seeds together. The dhal should not mashed completely but soft cooked.
Chop the onions , tomatoes and garlic.
Heat oil in a pan, add mustard seeds, when it starts to splutter add fennel seeds, dry red chilli, green chilli, curry leaves and garlic. fry for a minute.
Add onions and tomato and fry for a minute. Add the dhal and jackfruit seeds, turmeric, jeera and fennel powder and asafoetida. Add 3/4 cup water and season with salt. Cook sim for 15 to 20 minutes. Garnish with coriander leaves. Serve hot with rice or chappati
